Welcome to Computer Based Assessment & Evaluation’s
placement testing services. We offer placement testing for prospective students
who are accepted and planning to attend the new student orientation session at
the University of Akron. Academic advisors also authorize placement tests for
existing students. Students may be required to complete one or more placement
tests. For your placement
testing needs, here is some additional CBAE Testing Center information you may
find helpful as you plan your visit with us.

Location:
UA Main Campus Schrank Hall North 152. For parking and directions use this

Hours:
Visit the

center website for current days and hours of operation.

Parking:
Permit is required.

For prospective students, please use the temporary permit
received in your New Student Orientation packet.
o
We recommend parking in the Schrank deck adjacent to the Testing
Center in Schrank Hall North 152, but we also suggest checking a few other
parking locations
in the vicinity in case the parking deck is full or closed, especially on
weekdays.

Photo Identification:
A valid recognizable state or school issued photo identification is required to
test.

Placement Testing
Card(s):
New students are required to bring an Orientation Placement Testing Card(s) and
photo ID to the Testing Center.

Test Duration Time:
Placement tests are untimed and based on individual skill levels, yet students
typically take a half hour or more for each test. Multiple tests may be taken
in one seating. Please allow extra time in your schedule since tests are
untimed and each test may exceed a half hour.

Reservations:
Online Reservations are encouraged, but not required. Walk-ins are welcome
during
open hours. Phone reservations are not permitted. Note - New students may
require
synchronization of their Uanet Id and Password prior to making an
online reservation. Any reservations scheduled after May 9th may
be entered on or after May 11th, 2009

Placement Test Scores:
COMPASS placement test results are available by appointment with your UA
Academic Advisor.
